Coshh cabinets and their regulations.

Coshh cabinets and their regulations are much of an unknown and many people don’t really understand them all that well. Through this blog we hope to change that and give you a little bit of an in site into what the regulations are and explain how our Coshh cabinets can benefit you greatly. There are many things that come into play when talking about the regulations. Today most companies use chemicals and have them in the workplace. If they have this in the workplace then they have to adhere to the correct regulations.

Coshh cabinets

As you may or may not know all our Coshh cabinets are manufactured here in the UK. We have an 80,000 square foot factory that produces hundred of cupboards each week. As this is the case we can also follow the products very closely and make sure that the quality is there at all times. This leaves us and hopefully the buyer with a great amount of confidence.

So, what are the cosh regulations you need to watch out for.

COSHH stands for ‘Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’ and under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002, employers need to either prevent or reduce their workers’ exposure to substances that are hazardous to their health.

Hazardous substances make thousands of workers ill by contracting lung diseases such as asthma; cancer and skin diseases such as dermatitis. As a result, these diseases cost many millions of pounds to industry, society and individuals. The guide illustrates how you should assess the risk of your own Coshh substances and what control measures you should have in place to reduce employee exposure.

Coshh training is required as it will allow employees to identify, measure and control the exposure to harmful substances, and as a result will safeguard your employees. A cosh training course should provide you with:

  • An understanding of how and which substances can harm health.

  • Knowledge and definitions of exposure limits.

  • Skills to understand exposure and to conduct COSHH risk assessments.

  • A greater understanding of practical control measures and safe systems of work.

So, as you can see from above it is very important that all regulations are followed and are put in place correctly. We sell a wide range of Coshh cabinets from hazardous cupboards to acid and alkali cabinets. All have their specific chemicals that can be stored in them.
