So, what are the best features of both a cosh cabinet and a cosh security cabinet. I am going to talk you through the benefits of both and also let you know what our best sellers are.

Our standard Coshh cabinet comes with all the necessities to make storing hazardous substances safe. There is an integral sump for any substance to flow into this means that if there is a spillage it won’t be left free and to flow around the cabinet. If you are looking at a cabinet without this then we would strongly advise you don’t buy this as it will probably not fit in with the regulations.

They have a two-point locking mechanism which makes the hazardous substance safe and stops any unauthorised person from getting into the cabinet when they should be. This also makes sure that people know that what is stored inside should not be touched or used and only if you are trained should you use the substances inside.

All shelves are height adjustable so if you have a large product to store they can be adjusted to fit into this and make sure that they are at the correct height in order to store the products efficiently and correctly. These are just a few points about the standard Coshh cabinet.

Moving onto the security Coshh cabinets. One of the main differences is that it is made from 1.5mm steel and the standard is made from 0.8mm. This difference makes the cabinet heavier and a lot stronger. Although the products aren’t one down from a safe they are nearly as strong.

Another factor with the security version is that they have a piano hinge. This means that you cannot get a crowbar into the hinge to get into the cabinet. There is also a return on the back of the hinge to again stop people from drilling in and then using a crowbar to make their way into the cabinet. After all that would be bad as you are storing very dangerous substances.

Moreover, this cabinet also has a 3-point locking mechanism as well. This ensure that it becomes even harder to break into and is now almost impossible without cutting the cabinet is half, and by this time I think that somebody might have heard them doing that. And boy that would take a long time to do.

All the security cabinets have the same features as the standards and can be used in much the same way. The only real difference is that the standard cabinets are not as secure as the security. The standards will stop people getting in, but the security will really provide that next level of protection.
