Flammable cabinets – our security version.

Flammable cabinets – our security version.

Flammable cabinets can be used in many ways but particularly for storing flammable liquids. These liquids are normally petrol or any liquid that can combust very easily. With this said it is vital that all liquids that can cause harm to people or employees need to be stored away. Many companies over look this however it is vitally important and is a necessity.

In this Blog I am going to talk about flammable cabinets and the different options. There are two main options to choose from. The first is that the we offer a standard cabinet. We have spoken about this in previous blogs to if you would like to read about this then please head over to this page. Moreover, we have a security cabinet. These cabinets we have spoken less about as we wanted to build up your knowledge of our standard cabinets first.

Flammable security cabinets and much more durable. Let me start of by saying that they are 1.5mm thick. This might not sound like a lot, but now let me tell you that the standard cabinets are 0.7mm thick. This isn’t to say that the standard cabinets are worse quality. As they are UK manufactured they are of very high quality. This simply means that the security version is much more durable and heavier.

The flammable cabinets also comes with a 3 point locking mechanism. This is again different to the standard cabinet as this only comes with a 2-point locking mechanism. This again isn’t to say that the standard cabinet would not be good enough. All this means is that you will have added security and safety around the stored products.

All the security cabinets also come with a piano hinge. This is great and adds another level of high security manufacturing. What this means is that you cannot try and break in using a crow bar as there is know where to get leverage. As you can see from that this makes the cabinet a, what we like to call, non-burgle zone. Great for you and indeed the products being stored.

For this next part, I just want to mention that this is the same for all our security cabinets whether that be for hazardous cupboards or coshh cabinets, they all have the same features.

All our flammable cabinets also are fitted with a return behind the door. (please refer to the image.) This means that you cannot break through the piano hinge. Even if you do this return will prevent you from being able to get into the cabinet. While we can’t class them as a safe, they are built very similar and have many of the same features, making them very similar to one. This return will not get in the way when using it be an eye sore, it is neatly tucked away and will not hinder storage space.

To conclude there are many benefits to having a flammable cabinet and the security version. Although the price is affected by the increased safety we do recommend it if you are storing particularly harmful substances. After all it could potentially help you one day.
