Hazardous Cupboards and there regulations.

Most people/businesses use products or substances, that are mixtures of substances, which are considered hazardous and could cause potential harm to employees and other people. Some substances are easily recognisable as harmful in the workplace. But common substances such as paint, bleach, or dust from natural materials may also be harmful. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (CoSHH) is the law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health. Employees’ exposure to hazardous substances can be prevented or reduced by taking the following simple steps. Firstly, identifying the hazards to health and providing suitable control measures. Then, maintaining these measures and providing information and training for the people at risk.

Hazardous substances should be stored and transported correctly at all times. HSE regulations means that all hazardous cupboards should conform to the following regulations:

  • Able to contain a spillage or leakage.

  • Constructed of non-combustible material.

  • Secured against unauthorised access.

Here at Hazardouscupboards.co.uk we have a wide range of storage solutions that mean all of the above and more.

Below is a list of what all our cabinets have to ensure your hazardous substances are stored safely.

  • Handles with 2-point locking to ensure that unauthorised access is not granted

  • Adjustable spill-retaining galvanised shelves for superior spill management

  • Integral sump for handling spillages through the use of absorbents

Further to this we have a high secretary range that is manufactured from 1.5mm steel as opposed to 0.7mm steel. These hazardous security cabinets are also fitted with a piano hinge to eliminate the ability to break into the storage unit. The heavy-duty lock also makes this a much-preferred unit when storing the harshest chemicals.
